The Coming King

He came to earth; we knew Him not;
His radiant face, we never sought.
His lonesome trek, we sat to watch;
Our heart still cold, to Love’s approach.

The earth and heaven knew His Name;
But we, alas, knew not, He came.
And though we saw, his works so good,
We did not wonder, as we should.

The cross stood high on Calvary’s Hill
The price was paid and yet still,
Our cold, cold hearts refuse the gift
In wickedness, unsaved, adrift.

Now soon He comes, yes, once more,
A glorious King, unlike before;
And woe to men who know Him not,
For they will face, his unleashed wrath.
