Discontent

A content man is seldom found,
Upon the planet earth;
And I can't help but ponder on,
The reason for this dearth.

It cannot be due to the lack,
Of human beings per se;
For almost every place on earth,
Is colonized today.

It cannot be because of want,
Of bare necessities,
For even wealthy men are known,
To display the disease.

My guess is that the reason lies,
Within the heart of man;
We're born with stuff that always tries,
To get more if we can!

And unless we can learn to keep,
Our thoughts of greed contained,
It will not be too long before,
We're discontent again!
